Rescue and Shelter Dogs
We proudly provide free professional dog training services to our partnered shelters and rescue organizations for dogs currently residing in shelters or foster homes.
Our goal is simple: increase adoptability and reduce length of stay by helping dogs develop the skills and confidence they need to succeed in a forever home.
This program may include:
Basic obedience foundations (sit, down, stay, recall)
Leash manners and impulse control
Confidence-building exercises
Socialization support
Behavioral assessments and individualized training plans
Guidance for foster caregivers
By addressing common behavioral challenges before adoption, we help dogs present their very best selves to potential adopters, setting them up for long-term success and reducing return rates.
Two FREE lessons for every dog adopted from our partner rescues!
We believe adoption is just the beginning. To support a smooth transition into their new homes, we offer two free training classes to clients who adopt from our partner shelters and rescues.
These classes are designed to:
Build a strong foundation of communication and trust
Establish household manners and structure
Address common early challenges (jumping, pulling, nipping, crate training)
Provide guidance on positive reinforcement methods
Help prevent behavioral issues before they begin
We work closely with adopters to ensure they feel confident, prepared, and supported. This added layer of education increases retention rates and helps families build lasting, positive relationships with their new companions.
Professional Development for Shelter & Rescue Staff
We also offer specialized training workshops for shelter and rescue staff focused on safe handling techniques and proper leash etiquette.
These educational sessions are designed to:
Improve dog handling safety and efficiency
Teach proper leash mechanics and positioning
Reduce stress and overstimulation in kennel environments
Prevent leash reactivity from developing or escalating
Ensure consistent handling protocols across staff and volunteers
Well-trained handlers create calmer, more adoptable dogs. By equipping teams with practical, hands-on skills, we help create safer environments for both people and animals, while improving the overall presentation and well-being of the dogs in care.
